Walking Tips!


If you have never walked before we consider the following items are essential:

  • A pair of walking boots

  • Warm layers of clothing and waterproof jacket and over trousers

  • A rucksack for your food, hot drink and additional clothing in case the weather changes

Passengers should have a pair of casual shoes to change into at the end of the walk and a plastic bag to put your boots in.

Note - Denim jeans are not recommended due to their poor thermal qualities and long drying time when wet.

Fell walking can be strenuous and if you haven't exercised recently you should consider your general fitness and health before selecting the grade of walk and if necessary, discuss it with your Doctor.
